Publishing 360-Degree Virtual Tour Images
Integrating an iPIX image into new and existing web sites is a straightforward task.
There are three methods of publishing, which are described below.
iPIX Java Applet
The iPIX Java viewer allows images to be displayed without any additional software on the end-user's computer.
When publishing images, there are a number of customisable options that help integrate the iPIX images into the site. (Background colours, splash screens, toolbars etc.)
The Java viewer is not suitable if the image contains additional multimedia content, such as clickable hotspots.
ActiveX Browser Plug-in
This method requires the installation of a browser plug-in onto the end-user's computer. In most circumstances, this happens automatically without any user intevention (just like the plug-in required to display Macromedia Flash content).
The ActiveX plug-in works under versions of Netscape, Opera and Internet Explorer for both Windows and Macintosh.
iPIX images containing additional multimedia content such as clickable hotspots must be viewed using the plug-in, otherwise the hotspots won't appear.
Publishing QuickTime Virtual Tours
Our virtual tour images are also supplied in Apple QuickTime format.
